the custom build part of the biz is where the name “Ron’s Bikes” came from — but ironically it is what I have the least amount of time for these days. I will admit, even when I did have the time, this sort of process still took a lot longer than just plugging stock pieces together. it takes time to curate, and I need to be feeling it in order to get in the searching, ordering, and building zone. often times you can cross off all those barriers, and still one little thing will get in the way of completion, and the bike sits in the stand waiting for inspiration to return.
well this one took me a while, and luckily the customer was a real dream to work with. super patient and respectful of my time — well most all of our customers are (thanks!). not sure if it is just my communication and work style that attracts patient and respectful self sufficient folks like this (there were 500 of them at the Nutmeg Nor’Easter this year), or if our little corner of bike lifestyle humanity are indeed this cool. both I presume.
so here are a few shots of one I have been piecing together at the right times since May really. well maybe I didn’t start on it until June/July, but all that matter is that is is done! now time to take it apart and carefully package into a box bound for Japan!
thanks and hope you had a nice weekend everyone ::::
XO Ronnie
