another year another late august in Portland Oregon. 4th year of the MADE bike show is done and machine oil/pigeon poop dusted. I assume that is the general make up of what is clinging to my shoes and clothes after spending the weekend at Ziedel Yards. its the last year in this industrial setting, previously used for ship building and scrap yarding … and it certainly issss and aesthetic I can appreciate, but of course there are downsides. overall, I think we will look back on these first 4 years of the show with nostalgia. its been pretty cool!
like the last 3 years, I set out to capture every bike I could find with our tires on them. as you may know, we started ultradynamico with the idea of outfitting custom bikes like these, so its always cool to see that we have succeeded in many measures.
Anna Schwinn’s Significant other was pretty damn cool. look at that ano!
good friend Sal from Shovel Research had a fun booth too. I liked Anna’s golden foot theme, obviously.
waterford, gunnar, and Fat Chance are now made in Durango by the son of DEAN components. pretty neat! this one shows how hard it is to nail a fender line. not sure why they didn’t trim the struts either. fenders can be a real mine field.
a fav from last year was Liminal machine works cross bike, but this year the tandem really showed off. 2 sets of pristine cook bros tandem cranks! can’t not love that.

always awesome to see an Ira Ryan with our rubbers. nice fender lines too!

remember the Honjo factory tour post I did last year, well then you might recognize this guy! was so nice to reconnect. thought it was great that they were here/there.
the creative folks from Ghhhhooooosssst were also there at the Sim Works booth. Japan was well represented!
we love what Stinner is doing, working on getting more tires for them for their Santa Barbara built completes.
Brian Yellowbird out from Chester CT had a very busy show slinging top caps and other brass things he machines in Chester. We have a real presence at these shows, always cool to realize.
Simona at so far so good made this bike for their mom. I like the name.
there is my bike at the studio. these guys work hard!
