lead in from the title, that sentiment is a real fun thought for me. nourishing even. a bowl of steaming oats. wasn’t on my radar a few years ago, but nonetheless here we are. the photo above are the first three CR1 frames to go out to customers from the pre order — and color examples. These frames were made 5 miles from the barn by Larkin Cycles in Deep River, fresh from powder in Chester CT (4 miles from the barn). Yellow, mint, and raw.

many of you have likely already seen the Nutmeg Team CR1 machines in Team Race Red. We have jerseys coming too — these bikes really began with the team. Troy had this idea in his head for years for us all to ride around the Chester area the way the Richard Sachs boiyz used to when we were local kids. the 33-39mm tire optimization is perfect for linking our ribbons of narrow pavement to carriage roads and then back again for a slice of apizza. CR “Country Road”. thats Nutmeg Country in a nutmeg shell.

above is Darren Larkin at his shop in Deep River. We made 28 CR1 frames in this batch. I think it went well — looking forward to more.

bikes are a part of every day life in the Connecticut countryside

speaking of New England bikes — here is Frank the Welder special delivery from Bellows Falls Vermont. funny to think, but being 2 country hrs north — 2 states away — about the same time to drive across Los Angeles.

and then Rob the powder guy has some work cut out for him. all those aluminum EVOO frames are getting the race red R-Werx treatment. We split the powder duty between him in East Hampton CT, and another guy in Chester. the decals are cut in Deep River. New England has all we need! except avocados. I had my fist one at age 19 in college somewhere else.

excited to see all the builds come together with the above mentioned frame sets. Seeing the 9 Nutmeg Team bikes come into fruition has been zesty to say the least.
okay that is all for now — guess I was just excited to share the leading image since I just got those frames back from powder and I was like “wow”. so hope you had a minor to reasonable “wow” moment here.
