Nutmeg Country Spring Fling 5 2025

happy may day everyone! good time to announce our annual small spring event. for those who have not attended before:

  • this is a completely unmarked and un supported hilly ~55 mile ATB ride.
  • haven’t decided on where we will go this year … I am thinking the mild wildes of Haddam Neck like year 1. if it’s really really nice out, we will go down to Rocky Neck beach and ride the Goodwin trail back like 2 years ago.
  • there will be an encouraged half way bring your own food and water picnic stop. all of the amenities will be marked on the ridewithgps file.
  • there will be an alternative option that hits this half way stop for folks who want to skip (most) single track.
  • you will want at least 42mm tires, but wider is better.
  • if its rainy or generally crappy, I will call it off by the thursday beforehand. this is a vacation after all!
  • Register here at bike reg for free. its important to reg to get any of the routes and other info.
  • the cost of the event is a $20 suggested donation to the East Haddam Land Trust. the donate form is at the bottom of the page. this is honor system, but please help support the open spaces and trails the EHL so graciously maintains and makes sure are here for us to ride!
  • we meet at the east side ferry landing at 10:30am to greet the first ferry of local riders coming across from Chester.
  • you must park up in the Gillettes Castle parking lot above the ferry landing. the gates are open until dark at around 8. I hope you are done by then!

after you reg, the forthcoming info will be sent to you via the email you reg’d with.

hope to see you in a few weeks!
