its that time again — roadies who desire their rubbers plump, geo modern, and their brakes held high, REJOICE! pre order #3 of our ever popular CR1 Country Road bike is live for delivery in late December!

modern endurance road geo, Columbus “country” life tubing, and our own light and buttery steel fork come together to bake up this delectable platform for all day country road exploration rolling on tires up to 39mm wide (pictured). made right here in Deep River CT by Larkin Cycles!

nothing new here, same geo as the previous 2 rounds. nothing to improve as far as my brain can decipher. I would take a look at your current bike up against this one on bikeinsights.com. likely you will find the seat tube a little steeper, and the top tube a little longer, and maybe the BB drop a little deeper. This is all to move the rider forward and more over the center of the pedals for more comfortable and powerful seated climbing. especially good if you ride in an area like me with rolling terrain and a few steep leg punchers.
mid reach road brake calipers are plenty powerful for all your stopping needs whilst maintaining the simplicity and sprightliness that disc bikes dream of. likely if you are reading this, there is little convincing to do there.
here is a list of mid reach calipers I would recommend
Shimano BRR 600 : they are from the 9 speed ultegra group, long reach edition. they are really nice, and what I use, but of course discontinued. does not mean that they do not exist out there on eBay etc.
TRP RG957 : these are really nice too.
Velo Orange Grand Cru : readily available and well made.
Paul Racer medium : center pulls, but the non direct mount ones will do the trick and then some.
Tektro R315 : a budget option. still works very well. just not as fancy. you can find them in silver too.
Shimano BR-R451 : another budget option. might have to file the top for extra headroom with 39s.

COST: Deposit is for half of the $2,300 for a raw frame and fork with decals coated in lanolin based Fluid Film. If you’d like a custom powder coat, we can do that too for an extra $120. here are some colors we offer, but we can really do anything you’d like from Prismatic Powder. I will reach out to pre-ordererers some time in December to ask what finish they’d like. Total balance due upon shipping.
