CR1 batch two process

just pulled the van back into the great state of connecticut. nice to be back from the winter travels, well timed too! So today I will bring you on a little trip across the river from Hadlyme to Deep River CT to check in on the progress of the RONS CR1 production over at Larkin Cycles. Spoiler, 10 of the size 56’s are all done, so I will begin prepping, powder coating, and decaling those before shipping later this month. (look for an email from me about colors if you pre ordered one).

Okay, let’s have a little look in Darren Larkin’s shop on this 1st day of April (only hours ago folks!)

Darren is a one person operation for these so far. We might hire someone else to help as our little operation grows a little. This is a batch of 30 he is working on, and should have em all done by the end of the month he tells me. the only hold up are the fork blades. Those might take a little longer since we only have blades for 15 forks right now. to give you an idea of what it is like to order materials for moderate level US production, we ordered these back in November.

snorting flux I presume. whatever keeps him welding ….

buckets of what will be future bikes, and checking the drawings before mitering.

this frame will look like this bike. the birthing process. You can have your frame raw, where I apply decals and cover the frame in a lanolin based protectant, or for an extra 100-120 bucks, I can basically have it powered coated any color you like.

incase you were wondering the colors we offered last run, here is yellow, mint, and raw. looking forward to the greenery filling in like this around here about now!

for now we can gaze upon 56cm frames birthed on this day, the 1st of April 2026. good news still exists!

and then a quick lunch from my jersey pocket, and a check in on my emails in down town chester before crossing the swing bridge back to East Haddam. Its nice when work days flow like this!
