Hubert’s single speed EVOO 29er

hi! I am out here in southern Arizona waiting for a bunch of bikes to be built by frank and Darren back home. more travel blogging in future posts, but today I wanted to showcase Hubert’s (of the defunct madrean fabrication) personal one off single speed EVOO.

fun fact, Hubert and I met at J.P. Weigle’s French fender day in like 2011. We were the only people there remotely under the age of 60. a friendship was born, and then he moved from Vermont back to his hometown of Tucson. Well a few years later I started to spend a good deal of my winters in Tucson, and in this time period Hubert and I began to really develop of deep nerdery together over fancy coffees and ceramic bongs. One of the things we would muse about is what our ideal mountain bike would be, so when it came time to do these 29ers with Frank, I was honored to team up with ‘Bert for his take on the geometry. So here we are.

I will let the parts speak for themselves since there aren’t many to sniff on a single speed.

shovel research brake booster is a nice touch. I have a red one for one of my builds, but it is so svelte that I lost it somewhere in my barn. go figure!

Hubert gets a one off single speed for being Hubert.

the paws of power

hope you are having a nice long weekend!
